Summers as a child consisted of riding my pony in the majority of the riding lessons my mother taught, trail riding, and attending horse shows. To earn money to pay for show entries and to care for my horses, I would buy project ponies (most of them wild) break them to ride and drive and resell them.

As I matured I upgraded to starting colts. At the age of 16, I entered into my first colt starting challenge in Farmington, IA. By the end of the 3rd hour on the 1st day with the colt, I was riding it. I was ecstatic that I had won the People’s Choice Award of the Competition. The colt was then sent to me to train for 30 days. Little did I know that colt starting would lead me to a world of opportunities.

After graduating high school early, I went to Texas to feed my hunger for knowledge. I interned under Mark and Miranda Lyon. They shared an incredible amount of knowledge with me. From there, starting colts took me to Oklahoma, Oregon and then to Scenic View Ranch in Monona, IA. I was privileged to sale fit a lot of very nice 2 and 3 year old horses. After my time there I returned back to Texas to ride under NRHA professional, Tim McQuay. It was then that I learned to further a horse's education and how to put on a true performance foundation.

In 2015 I Competed in my first Extreme Mustang Makeover on a horse I named Gus. It was an incredible learning experience. To take a horse that was untouched and in 100 days haul it to Fort Worth, Tx to compete on it was a major undertaking. I learned so much from Gus, I competed in three more Extreme Mustang Makeovers. Placing 3rd in Sedelia, Mo on Olivia, and 5th at the Mustang Magic in Fort Worth, TX on Grace.

In 2016 I qualified my first horse for the AQHA World in Ranch Riding. Freck Olena Fox (Dan)was the 1st colt of my stallion, Smart Sanlena Fox that I had an opportunity to ride. Dan and I competed at the AQHA world that year, learned a lot and had a fun time!
